Chaniya Choli
The Chaniya Choli is another traditional costume worn by the women of Kutch. Its origin lies in the rural areas of Gujarat, but this three-piece apparel consisting of the choli or the short top, the chaniya or the long, flowing skirt and the odhani or the colorful scarf is a favorite with brides of various communities across India and with urban women during Navratri nights. The sight of women in Chaniya Cholis dancing away to the garba raas with their long chaniyas and odhanis swirling to the music and beat is almost spectacular. It reminds one of the ancient times when Lord Krishna?s Gopis or milkmaids dressed to dance with him.
Our collection of Chaniya Cholis are available in all your favorite fabrics such as Cotton Silk, Pure Silk and Chamois Satin.
The prices for our Chaniya Cholis start at Rs. 700 and go up to Rs. 4000
Gharcholas
The Gharchola is a saree traditionally woven for a Gujurati bride's wedding and is traditionally bought for her by her bridegroom.
The Gharchola generally has a square of gold thread, with a small ethnic motif or an auspicious symbol like a lotus or a peacock embroidered in gold in the center. The Gharchola has intricately woven zari designs within the square.
The Gharchola sarees may be woven and dyed anywhere in Kutch, but the final red color is given in Jamnagar. This is because there is an old belief in Kutch which says that the waters of Jamnagar have auspicious properties which when used for dying a bridal Gharchola saree will produce the most brilliant shade of red that a bride can ever have for her wedding ceremony.
Most Gharcholas have traditional patterns such as "bavan bagh" or Fifty-Two Gardens, "Ras Leela" or the depiction of Lord Krishna dancing with his Gopis, etc.
Our Gharcholas are made with the traditional, fine variety of cotton worn by Gujarati brides for their wedding ceremonies and are available with real zari work and tested artificial zari work.
The prices for our Gharcholas start at Rs.6000 and go up to Rs. 15000 for the Lagdi Patta, box pallu and other varieties.
